Additional On Saturday, April 24th the Napa Sheriff’s Department Athletic League “SAL” held an amateur boxing event at the American Canyon Gym. Young boxers from all over Northern California participated, including some local youth boxers. The event was well organized and attended. If any youth from American Canyon is interested in the program please have them contact the American Canyon Police Department and we will forward their names to Deputy Oscar Ortiz who helps coordinate the program. Also the Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the City of American Canyon for helping them make the event successful. There was an increase in the number of thefts reported for the month of April. In reviewing the type of thefts, some of the thefts are personal items from cars, money taken from vending machines, construction sites and other minor thefts. We also had an increase in the number of drunk driving arrest. The arrests were made on both Highway 29 and local streets.
