Additional – There was a drop in total calls for service this month compared to last year. This is partly due to our Motorcycle Officer being off for 3 weeks attending commercial enforcement training. This would impact our parking cites and traffic cites. The arrest statistic is also lower due to the fact that a significant number of our arrests can be generated from traffic enforcement. Public schools opened early this year and the first week we were very busy assisting the schools with traffic issues. Napa Junction School tried out a new system and it took a few days for the parents to adjust. We will continue to work with the schools to ensure that kids arrive and leave the school safely. Speaking of school, we had a report of a five-year-old student from Napa Junction missing. We requested the assistance of Napa Sheriff’s Dept, Search and Rescue Volunteers, Public Works, Fire Department, CHP Helicopter and school staff to assist in the search. We established a Command Center at Napa Junction and thankfully the young student was located at the Boys and Girls Club within the hour.
