Additional Community Officer Geoff Rochester has done an excellent job of educating the community regarding air guns that look identical to a real gun, but shoot a soft pellet. There was a recent article in the Napa Valley Register, and he has put a presentation together for the local schools. Officer Rochester was also recently selected as “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” for the VFW Post 11099. We appreciate all of Geoff’s hard work in serving the American Canyon Community. Two new police volunteers have been added to the Citizen Volunteer program. The new volunteers are Paul Ferguson and Nini Leggett. They will be assisting with the Radar Trailer Program, working the front counter and helping with crime prevention programs. They will also attend the Napa County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Academy. Also, if anyone is interested in the Napa County Sheriff’s Department Citizen’s Academy, they are now taking applications. An application can be found on the Sheriff’s Department website.
