Additional –
The 4th of July parade and celebration went very smoothly this year. Most of our Officers worked an extended shift to ensure that coverage was adequate. We had a few minor incidents involving firecrackers, but overall it was great 4th of July in American Canyon.
Friday Night at the Plaza seems to be drawing more people this year. We usually have our Officers do a walk through during the evening so people know that security is readily available. Also the police volunteers have been participating with State Farm Insurance and fingerprinting children. They have fingerprinted over 100 kids the last two events.
Officer Geoff Rochester has been busy promoting the “National Night Out”. He has put an article in the Echo and also did an interview with the Napa Register. Next year we may celebrate it during Friday Night at the Plaza. The two events would work well together. We could have a Fire and Police booth, which would include information on community programs.
